Strengthening Industry-Academia Collaboration for Selangor’s Future Workforce
Invest Selangor Berhad was honoured to visit the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) at Technology Park Malaysia to share our vision for talent development and workforce readiness in Selangor.
During the engagement, we presented our key talent initiatives under the SCOUT (Selangor Career Outreach) ecosystem, including:
• SCOUT University Series – strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.
• SCOUT Talent Enhancement – equipping talent with future-ready skills through upskilling and reskilling programmes.
• SCOUT Talent Expo – connecting employers with students, graduates, and job seekers.
• Selangor Lab Partnership – fostering industry-driven innovation and talent development through strategic partnerships.
The session provided a valuable platform to exchange ideas on how academia, industry, and government can work together to develop a highly skilled and future-ready workforce that supports Selangor’s economic growth.

Invest Selangor was proud to participate in the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) 2026, held from 20 to 25 July 2026, one of the world’s premier aerospace and aviation events.
The delegation attended the opening ceremony of the Malaysia Pavilion, officiated by H.E. Dato’ Indera Dr Azfar Mohamad Mustafar, High Commissioner of Malaysia to the United Kingdom. The event marked Malaysia’s strong presence at FIA 2026 and reinforced the nation’s commitment to advancing its aerospace and defence industries on the global stage.
As part of the programme, the delegation also visited several international pavilions, including the Northern Ireland Pavilion and the Austria Pavilion, to explore opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and investment across the aerospace value chain.
Throughout FIA 2026, Invest Selangor engaged with global aerospace leaders, industry stakeholders, and potential investors to promote Selangor as Malaysia’s preferred destination for aerospace, advanced manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and the broader aerospace supply chain.

Invest Selangor successfully concluded its Investment Promotion Mission to London, United Kingdom, aimed at strengthening international partnerships and promoting Selangor as a preferred investment destination.
Led by YBhg. Dato’ Hasan Azhari Haji Idris, Chief Executive Officer of Invest Selangor Berhad, the mission brought together delegates from Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB), and Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS).
16 July 2026 – The delegation visited Harwell Innovation Centre to gain insights into its world-class innovation ecosystem and explore potential collaborations in technology, innovation, and research that could benefit Selangor’s future development.
17 July 2026 – The mission continued with a visit to Crawley Innovation Centre, where the delegation met with companies around the Gatwick Business Park to explore business and investment opportunities. The programme also included visits to Elekta and London Gatwick Airport to gain insights into industry best practices and potential collaborations.
22 July 2026 – The mission concluded with a Business Engagement Session, attended by 15 UK-based companies, providing a platform to showcase Selangor’s investment ecosystem and discuss future collaboration and investment opportunities.

Invest Selangor Berhad was honoured to participate in the EU-Malaysia Cooperation Facility’s Project Identification Mission on Industry-Driven Skills Development, where we had the opportunity to present Selangor’s talent development initiatives and ecosystem.
During the session, we showcased SCOUT (Selangor Career Outreach), Invest Selangor’s flagship talent development initiative aimed at strengthening the state’s workforce pipeline. SCOUT brings together a comprehensive range of programmes, including Talent Expos, Industry-Academia Engagements, career readiness initiatives, upskilling programmes, and strategic industry collaborations to support students, graduates, job seekers, and individuals seeking new career opportunities.
