Invest Selangor, through S-DAICO, had the privilege of hosting a collaborative engagement session with Concordia University, one of the leading universities in the world for aerospace engineering.
This engagement brought together academicians, institutions, and industry players from Selangor and Malaysia, and the exchange of ideas showcased the synergy between Malaysia and Canada, opening doors to exciting opportunities in education, technology, and industry development.

Invest Selangor Berhad was pleased to receive a courtesy visit from the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), providing an opportunity for both parties to exchange views and share insights on engineering talent landscape.
During the visit, BEM shared an overview of its MyTalentEngineering – Demand Data Workshop, under Thrust 1: Talent Development & Retention of the BEM Strategic Plan 2026–2030. The initiative focuses on understanding engineering talent supply and demand, industry workforce requirements, skills gaps and professional development pathways.
The sharing also covered the proposed Talent Forecasting System, which aims to gather and analyse industry demand data to provide insights into engineering talent demand across disciplines and key industries.
The session provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and a closer understanding of the evolving engineering talent landscape.

Invest Selangor organised the Priority Industry Working Group (PIWG) for Electrical & Electronics (E&E) and Machinery & Equipment (M&E) on October 1, 2026, bringing together industry associations and key stakeholders for an open discussion on the sectors’ current landscape.
The session explored the challenges faced by industry players, emerging opportunities and potential areas for repositioning Selangor’s E&E and M&E sectors in response to changing market conditions.
The discussion centred on how Selangor can build on its existing industrial strengths, identify new growth areas and create a more supportive environment for businesses to expand, innovate and remain sustainably competitive.

Invest Selangor Berhad participated in MDX Forum 2026 – Where Digital Investment Becomes Digital Economy, held on 28 September 2026 at Marriott Petaling Jaya, represented by Mr. Nik Izuddin bin Nik Mohd Yusof, Senior Director, Industry & Ecosystem Development Division, as a panellist for State Investment Panel I: Where The Projects Are. The session was moderated by Mr Anuar Fariz Fazil, CEO of MDEC, alongside fellow panellists Tuan Haji Natazha bin Haris, CEO of Invest Johor, and Mr Bede Hong, Manager Investment of Invest Sarawak.
During the discussion, he highlighted Selangor’s strategic direction under the Digital Economy pillar of Rancangan Selangor Kedua (RS-2), emphasising that infrastructure planning must support the state’s broader economic and physical development. Data centre demand is therefore viewed as one component of Selangor’s overall growth equation, rather than the sole driver of infrastructure planning. He also highlighted Selangor’s focus on strengthening talent development and industry collaboration, including through the GBS Industry Working Group, to support the growth of high-value digital and business services.
The discussion reinforced Selangor’s commitment to attracting investments that generate wider economic impact through high-skilled employment, technology adoption, talent development and local supply chain opportunities, while ensuring infrastructure development supports the state’s sustainable long-term growth.
