The Selangor Information Technology and E-Commerce Council (SITEC) was established by the Selangor State Government, under the secretariat of Invest Selangor to uplift the startup ecosystem and facilitate the uptake of e-commerce by small and medium enterprise (SMEs) in Selangor and widen their market in a borderless world. It is aimed to develop Selangor as a regional trading hub for e-commerce.
SITEC has facilitated the transitions of SMEs to e-commerce through Online 100 and Apps 100 programmes, hold various educational e-commerce classes in multiple languages, created Selangor Accelerator Program (SAP), Pitch@Selangor and Smart City Conference since its inception in 2015.
SITEC also incubates young startups at the 11,000 sqft co-working space called the Selangor Digital Creative Centre located in i-City, Shah Alam. SITEC was recognized as Alibaba’s C2C marketplace Taobao merchant training partner in Malaysia in 2008. SITEC received a number of accolades in recognition of its contributions, including Digital Hub Status and Digital Enhancement Centre (DEC) by MDEC.
